![]() The three new maps are The Statue, The Canal, and the ATAC Tower of these, the first one is a competitive map, while the latter two are co-op. Today, for instance, they released three new maps for the game, available for the multiplayer and Intercept modes of the game. KILLZONE SHADOW FALL PLAYER COUNT FREEWhen you consider this, free maps down the line, and Shadow Fall’s customisable Warzones (allowing you to fiddle with each match’s individual settings), this is an exclusive keen to put its users first.Guerrilla Games promised that Killzone Shadow Fall would continue to get free DLC even after its release, and so far they have made good on that promise, releasing a wide range of free stuff that has continued to maintain at least some level of community engagement almost a year out from release. Sporting over 1500 challenges to complete on day one, acing these boosts your overall level and earns attachments with which to customise your guns. Speaking of which, progression is closely linked to your skill instead of your commitment this time around. Everything is unlocked from the beginning, allowing you to choose exactly how you’d like to play from the outset whilst negating that sensation of unfair disadvantage when fighting against those who’ve already climbed the ranks. Including nano shields (which only you can shoot through), teleportation, stun drones, air support and spawn beacons, each class can call upon very different abilities to shake up what is otherwise a fairly traditional first-person shooter.īest of all, Guerilla promised at their Expo conference that you wouldn’t have to grind to get the top weapons. Featuring the Scout, Assault and Support archetypes, these options supply more than simple weapon swaps and long/medium/short range proficiency. ![]() The classes in Shadow Fall provide yet more distinct approaches to master. ![]() With expanses of no-man’s land for sniping, narrow trenches for close-quarters combat and overpasses to flank your enemy, Killzone’s online battles should be commended for the amount of choice they offer users. Refusing to force you into one specific play style, the level we tried out – set alongside a wall separating the game’s two factions – packed in a good deal of variety for such a small area. Even on our small demo map there was plenty of room for catching foes in crossfire, and you can always see where your team-mates are at any given time. ![]() KILLZONE SHADOW FALL PLAYER COUNT SERIESIf you’ve played the Killzone series before then you’ll know what to expect pleasingly ‘heavy’ controls (held back by a sluggish crouch toggle, I’ll concede) are married to tactical firefights which reward teamwork. In contrast, blow-by-blow gameplay isn’t tremendously different from prior instalments. Goodness knows what Bethesda or Naughty Dog can do with this kind of technical grunt. It’s reassuring to think that Shadow Fall’s single-player mode will probably be even prettier. The fact that such insignificant creases are rendered in three dimensions instead of being painted on lends each character a level of intricacy no prior game could ever hope to achieve. From individual wrinkles on clothing to a glistening waste of churned, pitted mud, the sharp complexity of this game’s textures are outright insane. ![]() Forget superior lighting and physics engines Shadow Fall’s multiplayer demonstrates its real graphical prowess when you get up close. It helps you grasp just how pretty titles on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One can be. ![]()
